About the position

The Payroll Specialist at MortgagePros LLC is responsible for maintaining and supporting payroll processes within the Human Resources department. This role involves processing payroll-related functions, ensuring accuracy in payroll data, and assisting with the development of payroll practices and policies.

Responsibilities

• Processes payroll-related functions including new hires, terminations, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposits.
• Reviews and verifies payroll data such as timecards, calculates overtime and other pay premiums, and enters payroll data accurately.
• Prepares manual checks as necessary and oversees the maintenance of payroll records and files.
• Responds to routine inquiries regarding payroll deductions, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications.
• Posts journal entries and prepares month-end payroll reports.
• Reconciles all payroll-related accounts and activities.
• Assists with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures.
• Participates in related special projects as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent education and experience.
• 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in ADP and/or related HRIS systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
• Acute attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Experience in payroll processing in a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with payroll practices and compliance regulations.
