About the position

The Payroll Specialist at PACS plays a crucial role in managing payroll processes and ensuring accurate and timely payroll transactions. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can work collaboratively across departments to provide excellent customer service while adhering to compliance guidelines and deadlines. The role involves processing payroll for terminations, handling discrepancies, and maintaining data privacy, all while contributing to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and process termination checks using appropriate state compliance guidelines.
  • Process off cycle checks for missed hours and additional pay, as needed.
  • Review and audit payroll data prior to payroll settlement.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Respond to payroll questions and requests for information.
  • Prepare reports by compiling data of hours, earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • Update payroll records by reviewing and entering employee payment and tax elections.
  • Review and research questions regarding paid time off (sick and vacation).
  • Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll.
  • Process and complete verifications of employment.
  • Maintain data privacy and employee confidentiality.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving specified metrics and team goals.

Requirements

  • 2 plus years of Payroll experience, preferably multi-state
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills
  • Ability to Multi-Task, Organize and Prioritize Responsibilities
  • Strong Analytical Skills to Investigate and Resolve Issues
  • Workday Experience a plus
  • Ability to Work in a Team Environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft - Outlook, Excel and Word
  • High School or Equivalent (Required)
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business-related field preferred
  • Experience Payroll: 2 years or more (Required), preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environment
