About the position

The Payroll Specialist position at Robert Half is a fully onsite role based in Inglewood, CA, focused on managing payroll processes for all employees. This role is essential for ensuring accurate and timely payroll submissions, maintaining payroll records, and responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Verify and enter payroll data, including hours worked, salary adjustments, and deductions.
• Ensure timely payroll submission every Wednesday by noon.
• Manage 401(k) submissions and ensure contributions are processed correctly and on time every Friday.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain payroll records, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and securely stored.
• Assist with the preparation of payroll reports and other related documents as needed.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Familiarity with payroll practices, tax regulations, and 401(k) management.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently and work efficiently within the designated hours.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
