About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Inland Empire Paper Company is responsible for managing bi-weekly payroll processing, reporting, and documentation. This role also supports accounting and HR functions, ensuring accurate payroll input and maintenance of employee records while assisting with benefits administration and company events.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly hourly payroll and reporting.
  • Track maintenance time to work orders.
  • Retain documentation related to payroll.
  • Reconcile and transfer union dues.
  • Administer the automated hourly time collection system.
  • Assist with various accounting clerk duties when not processing payroll.
  • Support benefits administration including enrollments, terminations, and COBRA notices.
  • Assist in planning and executing company events.
  • File hourly employee records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Payroll experience in a manufacturing or union environment preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for handling confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in payroll processing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration.
