About the position

We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in Westchester, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in daily data entry for payroll processing. The Payroll Specialist will execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll, perform computations related to wages, deductions, premiums, and other payroll-related matters, and process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, etc.). Additionally, you will develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed, update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP Financial Services, and utilize accounting software systems to facilitate processes and enhance reporting. You will also manage compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements, prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, and coordinate with the HR department in setting up new hires in the payroll system. Addressing issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors will be a key part of your responsibilities. Leveraging your skills in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, and Kronos Timekeeping System will be essential to enhance payroll processes and ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll specialist role within the manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services
  • Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System
  • Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration
  • Proficiency in About Time software
  • Experience with ADP - Payroll system
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various departments
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred
  • Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
