About the position

A Non-profit organization located in Silver Spring, Maryland is seeking a hybrid Payroll Accountant for a project. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate processing of payroll and maintaining the integrity of payroll records. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, which includes preparing bi-weekly journal entries related to payroll activities. The individual will also oversee the maintenance of all timekeeping systems and codes, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will review all tax filings processed by ADP, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The role also involves preparing all account reconciliations related to payroll, which is essential for maintaining accurate financial records. At the end of the year, the Payroll Specialist will process all year-end activities and verify the accuracy of W-2 forms prepared by ADP, ensuring that all employees receive correct tax documentation. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years payroll experience with mid to large organizations
  • Proficiency in Kronos
