About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at AutoZone, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and providing financial support. This role requires a strong attention to detail and compliance with industry standards, AutoZone policies, and federal and state laws. You will also be expected to provide excellent customer service to employees and vendors while resolving payroll-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and vendors.
  • Complete and maintain transactions in the enterprise system.
  • Review, prepare, process, reconcile, and support transactions such as time corrections and off-cycle payment requests.
  • Troubleshoot inquiries and issues, conducting research and making necessary corrections.
  • Obtain additional information via phone, US mail, or email from customers/vendors and correct or escalate as required.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
  • 2 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with Payroll, Customer Service, or General Office operations.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing software.
