About the position

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist/Administrator to join our Clients' Finance team in Pittsburg, California. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing the payroll of our employees; salaried, hourly, and ensuring compliance with government regulations, and effectively using MS Excel for various payroll functions. The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of payroll data and ensuring that all payroll processes are executed accurately and timely. You will be expected to conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with government regulations and to address any payroll-related inquiries from employees. This position requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion, as you will be handling sensitive employee information. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams to ensure efficient payroll operations and keep up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations. Continual improvement of the payroll process to increase efficiency and accuracy will also be a key focus of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately processing bi-monthly payroll for 101-500 employees
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with government regulations
  • Making use of MS Excel to organize and maintain payroll data
  • Addressing and resolving payroll-related inquiries from employees
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate records of employee payroll data
  • Taking appropriate action on any discrepancies or issues in payroll processing
  • Ensuring confidentiality and security of all payroll records
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure efficient payroll operations
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations
  • Continually improving the payroll process to increase efficiency and accuracy

Requirements

  • Proficiency in processing bi-Monthly Payroll
  • Experience in handling Government Audits related to payroll
  • Capability to manage Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel for payroll processing and reporting
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, and retirement postings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
