Creative Financial Staffing is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join one of New England's leading healthcare organizations located in Malden, MA. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative team of five, where your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of payroll operations. This role not only involves processing payroll but also allows you to suggest process improvements, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to make a meaningful impact in their work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for approximately 1,000 employees. This includes checking and auditing timesheets, processing amended timecards, and managing file upkeep to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations. You will also be tasked with creating weekly tax deposits and addressing employee inquiries regarding their paychecks. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Team Lead to process paid time off accruals based on union contracts, ensuring that all payroll-related activities are executed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Processing payroll for 1,000 employees
  • Checking and auditing timesheets
  • Processing any amended timecards
  • Managing file upkeep in accordance with local, state, and federal payroll compliance
  • Creating weekly tax deposits
  • Answering employee questions regarding paychecks
  • Collaborating with the Team Lead to process paid time off accrual based on union contracts

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in payroll processing
  • Union payroll processing experience is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree is a plus, but will not be accepted in lieu of experience
