This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced department that provides exposure to both accounting and finance functions. The company has been operational for nearly 30 years and has recently received recognition for its support of immigrant communities in Massachusetts. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative team of five, where your insights and suggestions for process improvements will be valued. This role is crucial in ensuring that payroll processes run smoothly and efficiently, impacting the overall operations of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll for 1,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Checking and auditing time sheets to verify hours worked.
• Processing any amended timecards to reflect changes accurately.
• Managing file upkeep in accordance with local, state, and federal payroll compliance regulations.
• Creating weekly tax deposits to ensure timely payments.
• Answering employee questions regarding paychecks and payroll-related inquiries.
• Collaborating with the Team Lead to process paid time off accrual based on union contracts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing.
• Experience with union payroll processing is a plus but not required.
• Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree is preferred, but experience will be prioritized over educational qualifications.
