About the position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing payroll records, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll for over 700 employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves resolving discrepancies, preparing payroll reports, and collaborating with the HR department to ensure the accuracy of payroll and benefits data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll records and ensure timely payments to all employees.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff members.
  • Prepare reports related to payroll activities, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and leave.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR department to ensure seamless integration of payroll and benefits data.
  • Assist in staff training regarding timecard entry, adjustments, and time off requests.
  • Stay current on changes in payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll accounts to verify accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory filings and other periodic reporting as required.

Requirements

  • At least 1+ year of payroll experience.
  • Ability to take on the payroll function for the organization as the sole payroll representative.
