About the position

The Payroll Specialist at California Dairies, Inc. (CDI) plays a crucial role in managing payroll processes under limited supervision. This position involves calculating and inputting time data, processing vacation and sick time requests, reconciling payroll data, and preparing payroll reports. The specialist also provides support to the Timekeeper at alternate manufacturing sites, ensuring efficient and accurate payroll services while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and input time data for payroll processing.
• Process vacation and sick time requests and reconcile data.
• Prepare payroll reports and provide general support to the Timekeeper.
• Train the Timekeeper in all aspects of the position.
• Collect daily punches within the timekeeping system and input corrections.
• Review timecards for discrepancies and resolve issues with employees and supervisors.
• Monitor holiday pay and time calculations according to company policy and CBA.
• Process various employee forms related to payroll and timekeeping.
• Upload timecard data to the Payroll System for check processing.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible business administrative experience, particularly in payroll administration.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel or similar software.
• Basic computational skills and simple math reasoning required.
• Proficient written and spoken English is required.

Nice-to-haves
