About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Paek Management Group is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as the specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders and handle payroll inquiries while maintaining payroll records.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensure timely submission of tax filings and payments by third-party provider.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and benefits information.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Assist with audits and other payroll-related projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in HRIS/payroll software (e.g., Paylocity) and Office 365 suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience with multi-state, multi-unit payroll processing, including California.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
