About the position

The Payroll Specialist position at TriSource Staffing Solutions involves managing payroll processes for a company in Laurel, MD. This role is temporary to hire and focuses on ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance reporting, and managing employee benefits. The specialist will work closely with new hires and existing employees to facilitate payroll-related tasks and support the accounting department as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Process new hire paperwork and onboarding through ADP
  • Verify and ensure the accuracy of bi-weekly timesheets and manager-submitted reports
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP
  • Disburse payroll-related payments to third parties (e.g., FSA, 401K, garnishments, taxes)
  • Manage health, dental, vision, and other benefit selections for new hires and employee updates
  • File EEOC, OSHA, and other compliance-related reports
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for posting
  • Assist in reconciling payroll bank statements
  • Prepare HR and payroll reports for management
  • Support additional Accounting & Payroll tasks as needed

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of payroll and HR experience required
  • General ledger accounting knowledge preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar platform
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of office experience
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook for managing communication and tasks
  • Experience handling accounting figures
  • Self-motivated and reliable
