About the position

The Payroll Specialist role at Robert Half involves ensuring compliance with payroll tax laws, maintaining accurate payroll records, administering employee benefits, preparing payroll reports, and providing general payroll support. This position is a short-term contract opportunity that may lead to a permanent role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits
  • Prepare various payroll reports, including salary summaries, wage withholding statements, and government reports
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits
  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks such as W-2 preparation and distribution
  • Utilize accounting software systems for payroll processing, including ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, and Ceridian
  • Perform auditing and accounting functions related to payroll
  • Administer 401k - RRSP Administration, About Time benefits functions
  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with Dayforce requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now
  • Knowledge of Ceridian and Dayforce systems
  • Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration
  • Experience with About Time software
  • Proficiency in various Accounting Functions
  • Experience in Auditing
  • Familiarity with Benefit Functions
