In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will manage garnishments, child support, and leave processing, ensuring that all deductions are handled correctly. The role also involves producing monthly month-end reports, which are essential for financial tracking and reporting. The specialist will assist with benefit open enrollment, manage compensation benefit rates, and handle new hire information, making this position integral to the HR functions of the company. The ideal candidate will be proactive and organized, capable of preparing weekly journal entries and maintaining accurate spreadsheets. This position not only supports the payroll function but also contributes to the overall HR operations, making it a vital role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process and produce weekly payroll including prevailing wage, certified preferred and union
  • Review hourly rates, wages, and verify accuracy
  • Responsible for processing garnishments, child support, leaves, etc.
  • Produce monthly month-end reports
  • Assist with benefit open enrollment, compensation benefit rates, new hire information, and other HR related functions and duties
  • Prepare weekly journal entries reports and spreadsheets

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma; some college preferred
  • 3-5 years of related payroll and HR experience
  • ISolved software experience highly desired
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication, in both written and spoken word
  • Self-starter with organizational and time management skills
