About the position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing excellent support to our employees. This position is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our payroll system and ensuring that all employees are compensated correctly and on schedule. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with the HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes and enhance overall efficiency. In this role, you will process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, which includes calculating wages, deductions, and taxes. You will maintain accurate payroll records and ensure that all employee information is up to date. Additionally, you will review and verify time sheets, work charts, and other documents to ensure accurate payments. Addressing and resolving payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies will also be part of your responsibilities. You will prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries to management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Furthermore, you will assist with year-end reporting and audits, collaborating with HR and finance teams to improve payroll processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations is a plus.
