Payroll Specialist

About the position

The Certified Payroll Specialist position is responsible for managing all aspects of certified payroll, ensuring compliance with state and federal labor regulations, and maintaining accurate records throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires proficiency in various payroll systems and a deep understanding of prevailing wage laws and union agreements. The specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, independently handling multiple tasks while communicating effectively with general contractors and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of certified payroll including starting new projects and completing required paperwork.
• Ensure all projects remain compliant with state and federal labor regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for active projects.
• Adapt to changes in labor laws and implement necessary adjustments to stay compliant.
• Proactively gather information by contacting general contractors and maintain open communication with them and project managers.

Requirements

• Full knowledge and proficiency in LCP Tracker, Elation, and the new DIR system.
• Extensive understanding of the Davis-Bacon Act, prevailing wage laws, fringe benefits, and union agreements.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience working with union payrolls, fringe benefits, and prevailing wage compliance.
• At least 5 years of recent experience managing certified payroll processes in a similar role.
