About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at PrideStaff Financial, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all departments within the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include compiling, preparing, and entering timekeeping and payroll data, as well as computing and disbursing salaries, deductions, taxes, and other withholdings. You will be responsible for posting payroll data and preparing various reports that are essential for maintaining compliance and providing insights into payroll operations. Staying updated with the latest taxation laws and regulations regarding salaries and benefits will be a key part of your role, ensuring that all payroll processes adhere to legal standards. In addition to processing payroll, you will also handle garnishment orders and monitor any factors that may impact payroll specifications. This includes preparing all related payroll reports, such as tax payments, W-2 forms, child support, and garnishments, as well as other year-end reports that are critical for both the company and its employees. You will be tasked with updating and maintaining the payroll database, ensuring that all salary information is accurate and up-to-date. Assisting in payroll audits will also be part of your responsibilities, helping to ensure that all payroll practices are transparent and compliant with regulations. This position may also involve other clerical duties as needed, providing you with a diverse range of tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency of the payroll department. Responsibilities

  • Compile, prepare, and accurately enter timekeeping and payroll for all departments
  • Compute and disburse salaries, deductions, taxes, and other withholdings
  • Post payroll data and prepare reports
  • Stay updated with the taxation of salaries, benefits, and other factors
  • Process and monitor garnishment orders and other factors that impact payroll specifications
  • Prepare all related payroll reports including tax payments, W-2's, child support and garnishments, and other year-end reports
  • Update and maintain database regarding salaries
  • Assist in payroll audits
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years payroll experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • QuickBooks Online and Excel experience
  • Experience with ADP and Gusto Payroll
  • Must be able to submit to a background check and a drug screen
