About the position

Emler Swim School is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll for over 60 locations, ensuring accurate and timely processing for several hundred employees. This Dallas-based position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet important deadlines. The Payroll Specialist will report directly to the Payroll Manager and will play a crucial role in maintaining payroll compliance and employee records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and run payroll cycles for exempt and non-exempt employees using ADP WorkforceNow.
• Review timecards for nonexempt employees to ensure accuracy prior to processing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines.
• Maintain and update the HRIS system with new hires, employee updates, terminations, and salary updates.
• Process pay adjustments, special payments, tax allocations, and employee deductions as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and ensure all payroll records are kept secure.
• Communicate effectively with employees to handle and resolve inquiries and issues.
• Prepare memos and communications for employees and managers as necessary.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, including experience with ADP WorkforceNow or similar payroll software.
• Experience creating detailed reports and proficiency in Excel.
• Understanding of voluntary deductions.
• Experience in a medium to large size company with multi-state locations and high-volume processing.
