About the position

The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with various regulations. This role involves staying updated on changes in tax laws and labor regulations, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and collaborating with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless integration of employee data. The Payroll Manager will also handle payroll cases, maintain employee master data, and participate in payroll-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned location, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes to tax laws, labor regulations, and payroll-related legislation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments for accurate processing of employee data.
  • Prepare termination and/or off-cycle checks.
  • Manage payroll cases and email in a timely manner.
  • Maintain employee master data in the payroll system and audit it against Workday data.
  • Process garnishments, tax levies, and other non-voluntary attachments as required by law.
  • Participate in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned.
  • Compile, analyze, and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years' experience of processing payrolls from start to finish.
  • In-depth knowledge of country, federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Union Payroll and Prevailing Wage required.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll software and systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed while being team-oriented.
