As a Payroll Specialist at Connection, you will play a crucial role in our finance team, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for assigned company entities. This position involves managing both weekly and biweekly pay groups, which requires a keen attention to detail and a strong understanding of payroll systems. You will be responsible for uploading incentive compensation data from various internal sources into the payroll system, producing reports to verify data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with SEC guidelines regarding RSU data. Your role will also include maintaining the integrity of employee hours worked and payroll data, entering RSU data into the payroll system, and posting general ledger entries as necessary. In addition to processing payroll, you will conduct audits to verify the accuracy of payroll before transmitting files. This includes completing internal payroll process control spreadsheets to balance all compensation processed for each pay period. You will ensure compliance and accuracy of time records and paid time off requests in the time management system, and you will run interfaces to upload hours into the UltiPro system. Resolving access issues for managers and employees in the time management system will also be part of your responsibilities. You will conduct weekly and biweekly audits, run scheduled and ad hoc reports, and reconcile various general ledger and HR/Benefit accounts. This position requires a working knowledge of automated payroll systems and reporting systems that integrate with payroll and timekeeping systems. You should have a solid understanding of payroll practices, including the calculation of compensation for various pay plans and statuses, as well as the ability to calculate overtime compensation for non-exempt employees. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with all levels of the organization. A CPP or similar payroll certification is preferred, highlighting the importance of expertise in this role.
