About the position

The Payroll Specialist position at VanderHouwen involves managing payroll processing with a focus on compliance and accuracy, particularly in relation to prevailing wage requirements. The role is designed for an organized and detail-oriented individual who values customer service and is capable of working independently. The position anticipates a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days a week onsite after training.

Responsibilities

• Handle payroll processing ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Submit payroll reports ensuring accuracy and adherence to prevailing wage requirements/payroll regulations.
• Audit payroll records to identify and resolve compliance issues.
• Serve as subject matter expert and provide guidance on prevailing wage best practices.

Requirements

• Must have experience with Oregon and California Prevailing Wage.
• High preference for Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
• At least 2 years in payroll processing or compliance, preferably in construction or related industry.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and payroll software.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organization with strong time management skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to complete projects.
