A leading independent school in Dallas is seeking a part-time HRIS/Payroll Specialist to adeptly analyze, maintain, and evaluate the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) while processing semi-monthly payroll. This role includes auditing system performance, end-user activities, data integrity, and communicating with IT and third-party vendors to resolve any issues. The ideal candidate will offer system expertise, ensuring thorough setup and training for employees, and will coordinate all HRIS-related processes encompassing Applicant Tracking, New Hire Onboarding Compliance, Benefits, Performance Management, and Payroll workflows. Key Accountabilities include Payroll Management, where the specialist will process semi-monthly payroll, update payroll records, ensure timesheets are completed and approved, and resolve payroll discrepancies. In HRIS Administration, the specialist will serve as an HRIS subject matter authority, identifying and resolving data integrity issues while providing end-user support and training. The role also involves Data Integrity, where the specialist will conduct internal audits and analyze data flows to identify process improvement opportunities. The specialist will prepare and collaborate with third-party vendors for bulk data uploads related to Benefit Open Enrollment, merit increases, and other projects. Compliance and Records management will involve performing pre-employment background checks, processing onboarding compliance documentation, and establishing/maintaining personnel records, files, and reports. Benefits Administration will require overseeing day-to-day benefits plans, including enrollment, billing, claims disputes, and employee communication, as well as assisting with annual open enrollment and supporting 403b and cafeteria plan non-discrimination testing. Training and Communication responsibilities include training new hires and employees on benefit plans and communicating with benefit providers as necessary. The specialist will also oversee paid time off and all leave programs (e.g., FMLA) and process terminations, including associated forms, reports, records, and COBRA administration. Additional responsibilities include collaborating on internal and external audits, recommending corrective actions, and implementing approved changes, reviewing requests for system improvements, participating in testing HRIS implementations and improvement projects, handling worker's compensation and unemployment claims, enrolling employees in and supervising trainings and certifications, and ensuring workplace compliance posters are up-to-date.
