About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Amdocs is responsible for processing and validating payroll to ensure accurate payments to employees. This role involves managing high-volume multi-state payroll, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, and resolving any payroll-related inquiries. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to enhance payroll processes and maintain accurate payroll records.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and process transactional payroll.
  • Process payroll requirements on a frequency basis (biweekly, semimonthly, monthly, yearly, advance pay).
  • Manage multi-jurisdiction payroll tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and process Full and Final Settlement/Pay.
  • Ensure accuracy of statutory calculations for local reporting and compliance.
  • Deliver accurate payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Remit payments to tax authorities, government offices, and third parties.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and balance journal entries.
  • Manage employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll.
  • Collaborate with A/P, Accounting, and Human Resources to prioritize business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Experience handling multi-state payroll.
  • Understanding of payroll tax laws and year-end reconciliation.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP.
  • Experience using ADP or other payroll systems.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to troubleshoot issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Canadian payroll and tax experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kronos or other timekeeping systems.
