About the position

The Payroll Specialist is a crucial role within the organization, primarily responsible for the accurate input of data from various sources such as time sheets, production records, or individual time cards into a computerized payroll system. This position involves balancing payroll runs and ensuring the timely production of federal, state, and local tax payments. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will address employee inquiries and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the payroll process. The role requires a high school diploma or its equivalent, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within payroll, relying on established guidelines to perform their job functions effectively. The position operates under immediate supervision, ensuring that all payroll activities are conducted accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations. This is a 7-month contract position that has the potential for extension, offering a hybrid work environment where the Payroll Specialist will work in the office three days a week and remotely for two days. It is important to note that only candidates who are local to central Ohio will be considered for this role. Responsibilities

  • Input data from time sheets, production records, or individual time cards into a computerized payroll system.
  • Balance payroll runs and ensure accurate tax payments at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Address employee questions and troubleshoot payroll-related issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Utilize Kronos and ADP software proficiently to manage payroll processes.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience in payroll or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Kronos and ADP software is required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll concepts, practices, and procedures.
