About the position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team at Direct Health Source Inc. in Ozone Park, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization by ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. In this role, you will manage and process payroll, including generating and submitting reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using HRIS systems such as UltiPro or Ceridian. Additionally, you will perform double-entry bookkeeping and technical accounting functions to ensure the integrity of our financial data. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing. You will prepare and submit financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, and coordinate with external auditors and accountants to ensure compliance with accounting standards. Collaboration with other departments, including HR and finance, will be essential to ensure seamless communication and efficient processes. Furthermore, you will provide guidance and training to junior staff members on payroll procedures and financial concepts, and identify and address any discrepancies or errors in payroll processing.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll management and technical accounting.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems such as UltiPro or Ceridian.
  • Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and accounts payable/accounts receivable procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in payroll management or accounting is an asset.

Nice-to-haves
