About the position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for a small construction company, acting as the sole payroll contributor. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in handling union payroll. The position is temporary to hire and will initially be fully onsite until training is completed.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for about 200 employees
  • Respond to and resolve employee inquiries
  • Reconcile payroll accounts to the general ledger
  • Handle new hire processing and maintain employee files
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax filings
  • Assist with benefits administration and reports

Requirements

  • At least five years of payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processing systems, such as Workday or UKG
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to deal with confidential information discreetly
  • Able to work independently and with other internal employees
