The Payroll Specialist will coordinate and participate in technical payroll accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions. This role involves the preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis, and auditing of both manual and automated payroll data, information, records, and reports. The Payroll Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Payroll and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all exempt and non-exempt employees, while also ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. In this full-time role, the Payroll Specialist will maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salaries, tax withholdings, garnishments, and deductions. The position requires auditing payroll records to ensure all employee changes are correctly reflected in the payroll software. The Payroll Specialist will manage the Payroll distribution inbox, respond to frequently asked questions, and provide general HR and payroll information. Additionally, the role involves assisting with commission and bonus tracking, income verifications, and year-end payroll processing activities, including the administration of all year-end tax forms and data audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, with a minimum of 3 years of progressive payroll-related experience and knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions, is essential. The Payroll Specialist must be detail-oriented, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
