About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Qualis Corporation plays a crucial role within the Accounting Department, focusing on the efficient processing of payroll and labor distribution. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining employee payroll files, and coordinating with Human Resources on various employee status changes. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks while adhering to company policies and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Collects, organizes, and verifies all payroll-related information for accuracy.
• Coordinates with Human Resources regarding any changes (new hires, terminations, Change of Status, etc.) and keeps a payroll file on each employee.
• Processes payroll, bonuses, leave payouts, deductions, garnishments, child support, SCA, etc. in compliance with company policies.
• Assists all employees with general payroll questions and educates as needed based on company policies.
• Processes labor distribution in conjunction with each payroll cycle and processes timecard corrections as needed in a timely manner.
• Generates payroll and labor distribution reports for the Accounting Department as needed.
• Works with HR, Contracts, Program Control, and Billings departments.
• Adheres to all policies and maintains a high standard of confidentiality due to the nature of information.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the payroll field, with a minimum of 3-5 years required.
• Bachelor's degree required in the Accounting or Finance discipline.
• Deltek's Costpoint experience is critical.
• Knowledge of HR benefits and taxability is critical.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
