About the position

The Payroll Specialist is a crucial role within Vaco, responsible for the accurate processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position is designed as a 9-month contract and operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring the specialist to work three days in the office and two days remotely. The Payroll Specialist will be tasked with entering data from various sources, including time sheets, production records, and individual time cards, into a computerized payroll system. This role demands a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills, as the specialist will balance payroll runs, produce necessary tax payments, and address any inquiries or issues raised by employees regarding payroll matters. In addition to the core responsibilities of payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will handle specific payroll-related tasks such as child support and garnishments. This requires not only technical proficiency in payroll systems but also a strong understanding of the relevant laws and regulations governing these processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in payroll, with at least 2-3 years of experience specifically dealing with child support and garnishments, alongside a minimum of 5 years in the payroll field or a related area. The role is supervised closely, and while it does not typically require independent judgment, it does necessitate the ability to follow established guidelines and instructions meticulously. Responsibilities
