About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Bayshire Senior Communities is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a growing healthcare organization. This role requires a passion for payroll, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in full-cycle payroll processing. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to manage employee data and streamline payroll processes, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Manage semi-monthly payroll processing in collaboration with the Director of Payroll.
• Research and resolve employee payroll issues, concerns, and errors.
• Process terminations and manual checks daily for CA final pay requirements.
• Prepare, review, and manage multi-company payrolls.
• Analyze payroll registers for accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and HRIS departments on payroll-related matters.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of progressive payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll and tax laws, wage and hour laws, and employee benefits laws.
• Experience with Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) is highly desired.
• Significant understanding of CA final pay requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Skilled Nursing experience strongly desired.
• Non-profit experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience using Paycom is preferable.
