About the position

The Sr. Payroll Specialist position is a critical role within our organization, responsible for managing the entire payroll process from start to finish. This includes processing timecards for hourly employees, issuing manual payroll checks, and ensuring accuracy through checks and balances. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-volume bi-weekly payroll cycles and will be expected to independently seek, develop, and propose improvements to enhance efficiency in payroll processing. This role will also involve overseeing system upgrades, releases, patches, enhancements, and new versions related to payroll systems. In addition to payroll processing, the Sr. Payroll Specialist will be tasked with developing spreadsheets to determine payroll requirements that cannot be handled by the system, such as leave of absences (LOAs), retroactive termination payments, anticipated severance payments, and garnishments. The position also involves working with the Time Management System (TMS) to identify business solution improvements and establish vendor requirements to ensure the delivery of effective payroll solutions. The Sr. Payroll Specialist will provide guidance to employees regarding various payroll implications, including multi-state taxation, relocations, and LOA policies.
