About the position

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. This position requires collaboration with the Accounting and Finance teams to oversee multi-state weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, manage benefits administration, and maintain compliance with payroll regulations. We are eager to hire a Certified Payroll Specialist who is licensed and ready to contribute to our payroll operations. In this role, you will not be processing payroll directly but will be responsible for generating and managing reports that are essential for our clients. You will deal with prevailing wage rates for construction sites and manage end-to-end payroll operations to guarantee accuracy and timeliness. Identifying and resolving any payroll discrepancies or issues promptly will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also maintain employee information in the HR system accurately and prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports, including tax filings and benefits contributions. Additionally, you will handle regular and ad hoc reporting requests efficiently, assist in managing the background check process for new hires, and support recruitment and onboarding processes. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. A continuous learning mindset, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of wage and hour laws are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Oversee multi-state weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
  • Manage benefits administration and maintain compliance with payroll regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
  • Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting, financial software, governmental accounting, and corporate accounting.
  • Experience with PAYCHEX is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Knowledge of wage and hour laws.
