About the position

The Payroll Specialist position is a permanent role focused on managing payroll processes for a diverse workforce. The role requires expertise in multi-state tax regulations and proficiency in various payroll software systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and possess excellent data entry skills to ensure accurate payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of hourly and salary professionals through direct deposit and pay cards
  • Review and analyze payroll, benefit, and tax procedures
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Review and approve payroll procedures
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll experience
  • Multi-state tax experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Proficient with payroll software packages such as Workday, UKG, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, Paychex

Nice-to-haves

  • Payroll experience for over 500 employees
  • Union and non-union payroll experience
  • Well-founded grasp of account reconciliation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Ability to easily learn new systems
