As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing payroll functions for a growing U.S.-based team. This position is integral to our HR/Payroll team's efforts in implementing new technologies and processes to support the expanding employee base. We are seeking a dedicated payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to long-term career growth with a global manufacturer. The role is based in Houston, Texas, and requires onsite presence five days a week, from Monday to Friday. The salary for this position is $82,000 per year, and it is a direct hire opportunity. In this role, you will be responsible for processing corporate payroll and other designated payrolls on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. You will maintain accurate payroll records and documents in compliance with record retention laws, audit and reconcile files from UKG each pay period and annually as required, and handle payroll inquiries while maintaining professional communication with employees and managers. Additionally, you will track accrued time off according to company policies, manage wage garnishments such as child support and tax levies, and ensure payroll registration and state tax setup for out-of-state payrolls. You will also prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports as required by government agencies, providers, and internal stakeholders. Updating contribution changes, loan stops/starts, and providing support for 401K audits and reporting will be part of your responsibilities. Maintaining accurate employee information in the HRB system, including tax exemptions, transfers, terminations, pay rate changes, direct deposit, and pay card enrollments, is essential. You will need to understand and apply payroll actions in compliance with payday laws and drive continuous improvement initiatives for payroll and timekeeping processes. Lastly, creating and maintaining documentation of payroll practices and procedures in a payroll desk manual will be required.
