About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Robert Half is responsible for processing payroll for a large employee base, managing payroll adjustments, and responding to payroll inquiries. This role requires collaboration with management and other payroll staff to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for a large employee base (2,000-3,000), split alphabetically across teams
  • Manage payroll adjustments, direct deposits, garnishments, and levies
  • Respond to a high volume of emails related to payroll inquiries and concerns
  • Collaborate with management, who will handle employee terminations
  • Work with the interim Payroll Manager (through January) and the supporting Payroll Clerk
  • Coordinate with the LOA employee who provides additional payroll support

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in payroll within large companies
  • 3+ years of direct payroll experience
  • Preferred: 2 years of college or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in ADP Vantage preferred, but open to ADP WFN and other ADP platforms
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to handle a high volume of inquiries

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with payroll for diverse employee types (hourly, salaried, K1)
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including garnishments and levies
