About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Jollibee Foods Corp is responsible for managing high-volume, multi-state payroll functions, including data entry, processing, reporting, and auditing. This role serves as the first point of contact for employee payroll issues and requires a strong focus on accuracy and compliance with payroll legislation. The position is hybrid, requiring three days of work in the West Covina office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and processes full-cycle weekly and bi-weekly, multi-state payroll utilizing ADP WFN.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions and updates, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, pay rate changes, deductions, as well as processing terminations and final pay.
  • Reconciles payroll and validates reports before submitting payroll for disbursement.
  • Prepares special transactions, off-cycle payments, and manual checks under company policies.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Provides superior customer service, ensuring timely response to a high volume of email requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and audits management and ad-hoc reports.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by adhering to strict confidentiality standards.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and best practices.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Works closely with Human Resources and Benefits teams to maintain accurate payroll processing.

Requirements

  • Three years of payroll experience is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive materials and maintain a high level of integrity.
  • Aptitude for numbers, collecting, analyzing, and validating data with an exceptional commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent computer technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic understanding of payroll tax and legislation processes.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Professional written and verbal communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant industry experience, restaurant or retail industry preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Bachelor or Associate degree preferred.

  • Full-time position with competitive hourly wage ranging from $28.85 to $38.65.
