About the position

The Payroll Specialist position is a temporary contract role focused on managing payroll processing and related administrative tasks. The specialist will assist in onboarding new employees, processing payroll and expense claims, and ensuring compliance with union regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in various software applications to ensure accurate payroll management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist processing payroll weekly
  • Process expense claims, per-diem, and allowances
  • Assist new employees for onboarding including benefits
  • Process union dues
  • Process certified payrolls through LCP Tracker and DIR portal
  • Submit payroll reports for the CCIP purpose
  • Audit for health insurance enrollment
  • Answer phone calls
  • File documents
  • Process incoming/outgoing mail and fax
  • Assist other accounting tasks
  • Assist for administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Paychex Flex, Adobe, Dropbox
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in union payroll is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus
