About the position

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in the construction industry located in Winter Park, Florida. This role offers a long-term contract/Contract to hire employment opportunity and requires skills in various accounting software systems. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll information, resolving payroll discrepancies, and ensuring all payroll operations align with federal laws. All candidates applying must have prior usage with certified payroll reporting to be considered. In this position, you will oversee the processing of payroll in a timely and accurate manner, implementing payroll procedures to streamline and improve efficiency. You will handle the administration of electronic timekeeping systems and set up new hires, ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Additionally, you will prepare reports confirming that contractors and subcontractors working on projects are paying their employees prevailing wages in accordance with the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. Utilizing ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, and other accounting software systems, you will perform auditing of payroll records to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. You will also resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information, provide payroll information by answering questions and requests, and maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Knowledge of Ceridian and Dayforce systems
  • Ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively
  • Strong capability in conducting Auditing tasks
  • Understanding of Benefit Functions in payroll
  • Prior experience in a construction or contractor industry is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
