About the position

IBC Bank is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Corporate Human Resource department in Laredo, TX. This full-time, in-office position is integral to our operations, focusing on the collection, calculation, verification, and processing of payroll using our payroll system. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. As a Payroll Specialist, you will process payroll, calculate overpayments, maintain time-off plans, and manage payroll card orders and direct deposits. You will also be responsible for reissuing outstanding payroll checks, preparing and distributing weekly reports to managers, and running various payroll reports. Additionally, you will resolve unposted payroll items, audit payroll processes, and maintain worker documents in Workday. Your role will also involve preparing adjustments for wage discrepancies and handling requests for reprints of W-2 forms. You will assist the Human Resources department with daily operations and other duties as assigned. This position requires strong communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and establish cooperative working relationships. A high school diploma or GED is required, and bilingual candidates are preferred. Previous payroll experience and familiarity with payroll software applications are advantageous but not mandatory. Responsibilities

  • Process payroll
  • Calculate overpayment of wages
  • Maintain Time Off Plans (transfers)
  • Order the Visa payroll cards and set up for direct deposit
  • Re-issue outstanding payroll checks
  • Prepare and distribute weekly reports to managers (no reported hours, termination report, time off balances)
  • Run payroll reports (IBC Pay Calculation Results for: Paid Hours 100+, No reported Hours, FT less than 73 hours paid, IBC employee time type change)
  • Resolve unposted payroll items after payday
  • Audit payroll process prior to payday
  • Audit suspended, and closed accounts reports
  • Upload payroll input forms to maintain worker documents in Workday
  • Prepare and process adjustments for over and underpayment of wages every pay day
  • Reprint W-2 as requested
  • Phone Verification of employment, as needed
  • Collects data to box/log all files for warehouse
  • Assist the Human Resources department with the daily operations and any other duties as assigned or required
