About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Golden Entertainment is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all team members across the company's properties. This role involves maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while providing excellent guest service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain time and attendance records throughout the properties, providing reports to all departments on a regular basis.
  • Review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Post information pertaining to hours worked, deductions, paid time off, benefits, gratuities, and direct deposits into the computer in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data produced in Payroll, including reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of all wage garnishments and child support orders.
  • Cooperate with the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies, providing detailed payroll information as requested.
  • Handle limited banking functions pertaining to Payroll and resolve any discrepancies in the General Ledger.
  • Conduct the necessary research to effectively resolve payroll disputes from team members.
  • Prepare and issue paychecks, replace lost and/or stolen checks, and ensure accurate information for direct deposits.
  • Calculate and verify payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations as they apply to the position.
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year previous experience performing same or similar duties.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, math, and computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members or regulatory agencies.
  • Proven experience providing a high level of guest service.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
  • Verify right to work in the United States.
