About the position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all payroll processing tasks within the organization. This includes maintaining payroll records, processing timesheets, handling deductions, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong numerical skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile and process timesheets and other related data for the entire workforce.
• Process payroll information such as employment data, hours worked, rates of pay, adjustments, deductions, etc.
• Maintain payroll operations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepare, verify, reconcile and issue payrolls, pay statements and related reports.
• Interface with colleagues and external parties to ensure operational requirements are met.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies through information analysis and working collaboratively with HR department and management.
• Maintain complete confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information.
• Uphold knowledge of legislative changes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal regulations.
• Assist in payroll accounting duties, including journal entries, accruals, and payroll analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
• Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.
• Strong numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with payroll software, as well as MS Office (especially Excel).
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Certification from the American Payroll Association (APA) will be an advantage.
