About the position

Henkels & McCoy is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all payroll-related tasks. This role involves collecting and reviewing employee information, calculating wages, processing payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards while possessing strong communication and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collecting timesheet data and payroll information
• Entering data into JDE and tracking spreadsheets
• Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, etc.
• Preparing and processing paychecks and direct deposits
• Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
• Preparing and distributing income statements
• Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns
• Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations
• Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes
• Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Experience working in payroll or a similar role
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
• Experience working with JDE
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• High numeric aptitude
• Detail-oriented

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in accounting, business or a related field preferred
