About the position

The Payroll Specialist position in Seattle, Washington, is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's payroll functions. This role ensures that all payroll processes are executed accurately and in a timely manner, playing a crucial part in the financial operations of the company.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process weekly payroll for both union field and non-union office/warehouse staff.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions which includes salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Prepare and submit monthly union reports to keep track of the organization's activities.
• Oversee the weekly certified payroll reporting process to ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Generate various statistical payroll-related reports on an as-needed basis.
• Update payroll information promptly, including setting up union rates.
• Submit prevailing wage intents and affidavits in a timely manner.
• Keep accurate records and reports of all payroll transactions for future reference.
• Ensure all payroll activities adhere to federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Provide all necessary records and documentation for audits.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Extensive knowledge in 401k - RRSP Administration
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively
• Demonstrable experience in Auditing
• Familiarity with Benefit Functions
• Experience in handling Payroll - Garnishments
• Deep understanding of Payroll Taxes
• Capability to prepare Union Reports
• Experience in managing Weekly Payroll
• Proficiency in dealing with Prevailing Wage matters
