About the position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for administering HR and payroll processes, particularly focusing on timekeeping and payroll for foreign nationals employed or contracted by the company. This role involves coordinating and processing payroll information, ensuring compliance with IRS and INS regulations, and managing the complexities of foreign employee statuses.

Responsibilities

  • Administers HR and Payroll processes for timekeeping and payroll.
  • Coordinates collection and processing of payroll information for foreign nationals.
  • Analyzes documentation to determine proper tax status and classification of foreign individuals.
  • Supervises and reviews individual data related to foreign nationals' employment status.
  • Handles day-to-day payroll operations including garnishments, levies, and payroll calculations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or 2 years of experience in payroll, benefits, tax, or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous report writing experience.
