About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Henkels & McCoy West is responsible for managing all payroll-related tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments, and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to resolve payroll issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collecting timesheet data and payroll information
• Entering data into JDE and tracking spreadsheets
• Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, etc.
• Preparing and processing paychecks and direct deposits
• Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
• Preparing and distributing income statements
• Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns
• Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations
• Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes
• Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Experience working in payroll or a similar role
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
• Experience working with JDE
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• High numeric aptitude
• Detail-oriented

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in accounting, business or a related field preferred
