About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Celestar Corporation is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for the team. This role involves managing payroll tasks, adhering to tax regulations, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth and accurate payroll processing for the team.
  • Review timecards and process PTO accruals.
  • Handle payroll for new hires, promotions, and terminations.
  • Stay updated on local, state, and federal payroll reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with management to correct timecards and assist HR with employee records.
  • Verify and input data into the payroll system (DELTEK COSTPOINT).
  • Assist with audits and perform reconciliation processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive payroll information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of payroll experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and SharePoint is preferred.
