About the position

We are seeking a hybrid Payroll Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity in Minneapolis. This role is crucial in handling various payroll functions, including processing payroll for over 500 employees and managing multi-state payroll taxes, while utilizing accounting software systems such as Workday Payroll and ADP - Financial Services.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process payroll for over 500 employees using Workday Payroll
• Handle multi-state payroll taxes to ensure compliance with all applicable laws
• Utilize ADP - Financial Services to facilitate payroll operations
• Maintain and update employee payroll records in a timely and accurate manner
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve concerns promptly
• Monitor payroll transactions and reports for accuracy
• Use Ceridian for efficient payroll management and processing
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data
• Conduct regular audits on payroll information and rectify any discrepancies
• Stay updated on the latest payroll trends, regulations, and best practices in the industry.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and experience with Workday Payroll
• Proficiency in handling Payroll Taxes
• Experience managing Multi-state Payroll
• Experience in handling Payroll for over 500 employees
• Familiarity with Hi Tech Engineering industry is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively
• Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Professional certification in payroll management will be an advantage
• Demonstrable ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
