About the position

The Payroll Specialist position at System One involves a comprehensive set of responsibilities centered around the verification, balancing, and auditing of payroll transactions. This role is crucial in ensuring that payroll processes are executed accurately and efficiently. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for setting up, processing, and conducting research related to time reporting systems and processes, including the Workforce Management System and other applications used for time and information collection. A key aspect of this role is to provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from store employees and management in a timely and professional manner. In addition to customer service, the Payroll Specialist will interact and partner with various stakeholders, including ADP (the payroll service provider), store employees, field management, HR, legal counsel, and other departments within the company. Effective communication regarding payroll policies, procedures, and issues is essential to ensure that all parties are informed and compliant. The role also requires performing verification and balancing functions, as well as researching discrepancies to maintain the accuracy of payroll transactions. The Payroll Specialist will administer corporate time reporting systems, ensuring the proper setup of FLSA overtime rules and the timely collection of employee hours for payroll processing. This position will also involve creating queries and reports as needed for management, internal and external auditors, HR, legal, and research purposes. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will coordinate activities related to processing accelerated termination pays and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Verify, balance, and audit payroll transactions.
  • Setup, process, and research time reporting systems and processes, including the Workforce Management System.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries from store employees and management.
